On Thursday, December 29th, the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 11 AM to 3:30 PM in the Community Room on the lower floor of the OWASA Administration Building, 400 Jones Ferry Road, Carrboro.
“The supply of blood around the holidays always goes down, but the need remains constant. Your donation could give someone the perfect gift this holiday season – the gift of life,” said Caroline Allison, American Red Cross Donor Recruitment Representative for the Carolinas Blood Services Region.
To participate in a blood drive, donors must be at least 17 years old (or 16 years old with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds (donors who are 18 and younger must also meet specific height and weight requirements), be in general good health and have photo identification.
Presenting donors will receive the chance to win a pair of domestic Delta Air Lines tickets, and all donors will receive a free soup mug and chili recipe from Chef Cat Cora.
For more information or to schedule an appointment, please visit www.redcrossblood.org to schedule an appointment or contact Wilma Palmer with the American Red Cross Central North Carolina Chapter at 919-493-3551. Getting an appointment will make the donation process faster for everyone who participates. Walk-ins are welcome after noon.
