Mary Darr, P.E., recently became OWASA’s Director of Engineering and Planning. She was selected from a pool of 44 candidates after a national search.
Ms. Darr joined OWASA in 1994 as a Utilities Engineer and her responsibilities in that position included master planning, managing capital projects and reviewing plans for water and sewer facilities in new development.
She was promoted to Operations Engineer in 2000, with responsibilities for managing key initiatives such as OWASA’s award-winning participation the national Partnership for Safe Water, design and construction of OWASA’s Operations Center and developing OWASA’s asset management program.
Ms. Darr has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan. Originally from Ohio, she worked for the City of Ann Arbor before joining OWASA.
Her hobbies include quilting, gardening and visiting national parks with her husband.
