16 Feb 2022 Youth Water Academy Applications Open
Students in grade 9 to 12 in Carrboro and Chapel Hill are invited to apply for OWASA’s 2022 Youth Water Academy, which will introduce participants to the fascinating process of protecting, sourcing, treating, and delivering the community’s water and wastewater.
Participants will have the chance to learn from OWASA’s talented team of engineers, operators, distribution crews, scientists, administrative staff and more. They work behind-the-scenes to deliver safe and reliable water and wastewater services to the community – because water is vital to public health, sustainability, and community development!
Twenty (20) LetServe service hours are available for participation in the program.

Wednesdays after school from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

400 Jones Ferry Road (most sessions will take place outside)

Guidelines for selecting applicants include:
- Student in grades 9-12 in Carrboro and Chapel Hill
- Demonstrated interest in water/wastewater management and conservation
- Excitement for sharing water education with peers in the community
- Representation from diverse schools and cultures
Applicants must be available for all five sessions. There are only 12 spots available.
