15 Feb OWASA Board of Directors Meeting Summary for February 10
OWASA’s Board of Directors met virtually on Thursday, February 10, 2022, and considered an agenda that included an update on the community’s Long-Range Water Supply Plan.
The Board of Directors is currently meeting virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Long-Range Water Supply Plan
The Board discussed the next steps for engaging with the community regarding the update of OWASA’s Long-Range Water Supply Plan and the decision to increase the reliability and resiliency of our water supply by securing access to our Jordan Lake allocation.
Budget
The Board received updates from the managers of OWASA’s Operating Departments discussing opportunities and challenges ahead of the Fiscal Year 2023 Budget development. The Board will hold public hearings on the budget this spring before voting on a final budget in June.
Reliability and Resiliency Update
The Board received the Reliability and Resiliency Improvements Update on the ongoing efforts to improve the reliability of the services we provide to customers by reducing the risk of service interruptions.
Board Member Compensation
The Board discussed increasing Board Member compensation to encourage public interest in applying for appointment to the OWASA Board of Directors.
Board Meetings
The Board agreed to a trial basis of one OWASA Board meeting each month beginning on March 10, 2022.

The Board will hold its next meeting on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 6 p.m.; the agenda will be provided here.
