20 Jul OWASA Board of Directors Meeting Summary for July 14
OWASA’s Board of Directors met virtually on Thursday, July 14, 2022, and considered an agenda that included the Long-Range Water Supply Plan.
The Board of Directors is currently meeting virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
New Board Members
The Board welcomed four new Board members: Pedro Garcia and David Gorelick, appointed by the Town of Chapel Hill, as well as Melody Kramer and Elmira Mangum, appointed by the Town of Carrboro.
Long-Range Water Supply Plan
The Board approved the Long-Range Water Supply Plan. This plan was updated to project OWASA’s water resource needs and how to best serve customers through 2070.
Account Delinquency Fee
The Board eliminated OWASA’s Account Delinquency Fee to support OWASA’s goal of providing equitable services to the community. The Account Delinquency Fee was previously charged when customers were disconnected for non-payment.
Summer Meeting
The Board agreed to cancel the August 11, 2022, Board meeting.

The Board will hold its next meeting on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 6 p.m.; the agenda will be provided here.
