16 Mar OWASA Board of Directors Meeting Summary for March 11
OWASA’s Board of Directors met virtually on Thursday, March 11, 2021, and considered an agenda that included draft Fiscal Year 2022 operating and capital equipment budgets.
The Board of Directors is currently meeting virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Long-Range Water Supply Plan
The Board received a summary of the community engagement process and feedback provided by the public on the update of OWASA’s Long-Range Water Supply Plan. The Board informed staff that they can move forward to the next step of developing guiding principles to use in evaluating final alternatives. The Board also thanked individuals who provided comments and directed staff to provide the March 11 OWASA Board meeting material to local partners and the public.
Fiscal Year 2022 Draft Operating and Capital Equipment Budgets
The Board discussed draft Fiscal Year 2022 operating and capital equipment budgets. The Board will hold a public hearing on the draft budget in May 2021 before making final budget and rate decisions in June 2021.
Board Self-Assessment
The Board discussed staff and general counsel feedback on the recent Board self-assessment. The goal of the self-assessment is to strengthen the Board and make it more effective.

The Board will hold its next meeting remotely on Thursday, March 25, 2021, via Microsoft Teams at 6 p.m.; a link will be provided here.
