OWASA’s Board of Directors met virtually on Thursday, May 12, 2022, and considered an agenda that included public hearings on the proposed Fiscal Year 2023 Budget and Rate Adjustment.
The Board of Directors is currently meeting virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Budget
The Board held concurrent public hearings on the proposed Fiscal Year 2023 Budget and Rate Adjustment. The Board will approve a final budget at the meeting scheduled for June 9, 2022.
Employee Health and Dental Insurance
The Board authorized the Executive Director to execute contracts for employee health and dental insurance plans with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina to replace those scheduled to expire on June 30, 2022.
Long-Range Water Supply Plan
The Board discussed and provided feedback on preparations for the Board selecting a Jordan Lake alternative as part of the process of updating the community’s Long-Range Water Supply Plan.
