15 Feb OWASA Resumes Standard Water Treatment April 1st
Beginning at 12 a.m. April 1, 2024, OWASA ended the temporary alteration of its drinking water treatment process. We will switch from using chlorine to disinfect our water, back to using chloramines, a combination of ammonia and chlorine, as usual. This will not impact drinking water quality and customers can continue using tap water as usual during this time. It may take a few days after the switch back to chloramines for the chlorine odor and taste of your water to dissipate.
If you have questions or concerns about this process, contact Customer Service at 919-537-4343 or email us at info@owasa.org.
