01 Nov OWASA’s water surpasses Federal and State standards; water testing kits mailed to customers are from a private company
OWASA said Wednesday that several customers have contacted OWASA after receiving water testing kits in the mail from a private company. The private company and its mailers are not affiliated with OWASA.
In light of the inquiries, OWASA reassures customers that it continues to surpass all Federal and State standards for drinking water quality. OWASA routinely tests its water for more than 150 substances.
OWASA’s most recent annual water quality report card, for calendar year 2016, is available here or on request by calling 919-968-4421 or sending an e-mail to info@owasa.org.
“We will be glad to test our drinking water for any customer on request at no charge, and we invite anyone with questions or comments about our drinking water to contact us at 919-537-4228 or WTPLaboratory@owasa.org,” said Katie Harrold, Laboratory Supervisor at the Jones Ferry Road Water Treatment Plant.
The Laboratory staff at OWASA’s Jones Ferry Road Water Treatment Plant in Carrboro follows Federal and State standards for testing water and is certified by the State of North Carolina.
